Power lines are a strong visual element in our suburban landscape, I have a love hate relationship with them. We focus a lot of attention on the buildings and landscaping we create but accept that power lines are utilitarian. There is an resigned acceptance they are not meant to be aesthetically resolved.
From and artistic point of view I love some of the happy accidents created when design is pragmatic with no aesthetic consideration. I like the angles and perspective power lines create in the landscape.
This high voltage power pole created a kaleidoscope effect as you move around it with cables passing through and steel members going in different directions. The angle this was drawn at captured the perspective of that feeling.
