I like buildings undergoing change, usually that is dilapidation as that is a rich source for drawing and the imagination. I am always wondering what were the circumstances which led to the building coming to this point of dilapidation.
In this case the building is undergoing change as it is being restored. It is just as interesting to me as I like to look at how they are restoring it and the level of respect they are paying the building. The irony is that once it is restored I won’t notice the building.
With the drawing I wanted to blur the lines between the buildings detailing and the scaffold so the scaffold becomes part of the building at this point in time.
