I really don’t like shopping but I find older strip shops themselves very interesting. Shop fronts often have a high rotation in terms of their renovation lifecycle but the first floor is often overlooked creating a very interesting contrast with modern window displays and intact period facades above.
As there is often a high turn over the facades end up accumulating wires, old signage frames etc. The focus is the shop front and not the overall building which creates a stark contrast.
In this case I liked the cropping of the two adjoining Bars with their signage and the lines created by standing at the footpath looking up.
